2021 Diversity Visa (Green Card) Lottery - Registration Period - Oct. 2, 2019 to Nov. 5, 2019

The U.S. Department of State begins accepting Diversity Visa Lottery applications from Wednesday, October 2, 2019 to Tuesday, November 5, 2019. The program shall grant 50,000 U.S. Green Cards to winners.

The applicant must be native of one of the eligible countries and must have at least high school education (successful completion of 12-year course of formal elementary and secondary education) OR two years of work experience within the past five years in one of the qualifying occupations.

"Native" is defined in the program as place of birth of applicant or his/her spouse in one of the eligible countries. Some applicants could qualify on the basis of birth of parents in one of the eligible countries as well.

The natives of the following countries are not eligible:

Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (mainland-born), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, and Vietnam.

Persons born in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan are eligible.

All applicants, except natives of countries listed above are eligible.
